ICAR-NRC Mithun organizes animal health camp at Yimchong village

ICAR- National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema and KVK Longleng district jointly organized an animal health camp cum awareness programme at Yimchong village under Longleng district on December 16 under “tribal sub head plan”. 
In the programme, senior scientist, Dr. M. H Khan demonstrated the different activities of ICAR-NRC on mithun, while the different technologies as well as use of different medicine in the treatment of animals were described by subject matter specialist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longleng, Dr Lilly Ngullie. She also elaborated the scientific information related to advanced mithun husbandry and also use of mineral mixture to improve the health condition of animals. 
The overview of different diseases as well as importance of vaccination and mass deworming has been highlighted by scientist, Jayanta Kumar Chamuah.
The mithun farmers were given various inputs such as vaccines for foot & mouth disease, mineral mixture, anthelmintic, various veterinary medicines for first aid to the mithun and other livestock. Meanwhile, village council chairman, president, Mithun farmers union and general secretary, mithun farmers union, Yimchong Village has expressed sincere thanks to the  Director, ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema for rendering the noble public service to the farmers of Yimchong village. 
The health check up of total 24 mithuns were done and treated accordingly. Altogether 70 mithun farmers participated in the programme.
