While strongly supporting the NBCC’s request to the government to review the date of Good Governance Day, the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) Impur also pointed out that the decision of the government has hurt the sentiments of Christians all over India.
A press note by ABAM Impur, executive secretary Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger stated that India was a secular country, with its millions of citizens professing many religions and its greatest asset was this unity in diversity. ABAM questioned as to why December 25, Christmas Day should be turned into Good Governance Day. Stating that the recent development and decisions made by the Modi government was confusing and hypocritical, ABAM requested for government to review the date.
