Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers were encouraged to strengthen the All-Nagaland Fair Price Shop Association (ANFPSA), cooperate with the Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) Nagaland and extend their best service to the beneficiaries across the state.
Speaking at the first annual session of the All-Nagaland Fair Price Shop Association (ANFPSA) on April 23 at Saramati Hotel held under the theme, “Serve in dignity”, special guest of the programme, director of and Civil Supploes F&CS, Chubawati Chang, urged FPS dealers to work with “fairness, transparency and accountability” in serving the 3, 32, 2112 ration cards holders (Antyodaya Anna Yojana and Priority Household) in Nagaland.
In a press release, ANFPSA informed that the special guest also deliberated on the National Food Security Act (NFSA) 2013 and its implementation in Nagaland.
Chang called upon FPS dealers to always work in line with the guidelines given by the government through the concerned department, and work towards achieving the goal set by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India.
The director also highlighted the FPS dealers about the mandatory reform and directives from the Ministry, such as road optimization, ePoS device integration to weighing scale, modernization of FPS and its viabilities in implementing NFSA 2013.
Earlier, the programme began with invocation by assistant pastor Lanlongo Yanthan, a presidential address by Hotoshe Sumi, brief insight of association by G. Meijiang, and a momentary note on adaptation of the constitution by V. Phushika Aomi.
The special guest was accompanied by the deputy director, assistant director of Supply Dimapur and R&D.
Meanwhile, a five-member nomination committee, after following the nomination process, declared the association’s new team of office bearers for the tenure of 2024-2027. The team would be led by V. Phushika Aomi as president, Bedusai Theluo and Vekehiekho Kintso as vice presidents and G. Meijiang as general secretary, along with seven other members and Hotoshe Sumi as advisor.
The meeting was attended by the district unit members from Dimapur, Kohima, Mon, Phek, Peren, Wokha, Tuensang, Zunheboto, Chümoukedima and Niuland. The event concluded with a closing remark by ANFPSA advisor C.P Gonmei.
