State deputy chief minister, Y Patton, has appealed to the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) and its district units to repose their faith in the law enforcement agencies and state government and call off the ongoing shutter down strike.
Patton said that the state government has taken a serious note of the inconvenience faced by the business community. He also said that the government has issued strict directions to police and district administration to ensure safety, security of the business community and ensure conducive business environment in the state with joint efforts of police, district administration and office bearers of the chamber of commerce.
The deputy chief minister reminded that the state government in the past had issued numerous instructions to the law enforcement agency to instil confidence in the community and entail a mechanism of communication with them 24×7 so necessary action was taken immediately on any such cases of extortion reported.
Patton said that all the important contact numbers of police and administrative officers were in public domain for timely reporting of any complaint.
The deputy chief minister requested the business community to appreciate the action taken by the police and administration and cooperate with it to ensure that the problems faced by them were addressed and effective implementation of ceasefire ground rules was ensured.
