Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) on Wednesday said its was optimistic that the ‘dream project’ would see the light of the day after chief minister T.R. Zeliang assured to provide all necessary assistance to complete remaining the 8kms earth cutting work (5 kms at Niuland and 3 kms Naginimora) by end of December 2016.
Informing this in a press note, NFHRCC convenor Supu Jamir and secretary W.Y. Kithan said in view of the assurance given by the chief minister, the committee has kept in abeyance the “proposed measure”.
NFHRCC however said the committee would resort to its “proposed measure”, if the government failed to fulfil the assurance.
While asking the contractors to start work by January 2017, the committee also directed the contractors to sign an agreement with the Foot Hill Road committee, to maintain quality workmanship in order to avoid any misunderstanding in the future.
