The 7th Kohima District Open shooting competition 2024 was held at D.Khel ground, Seikhazou Kohima village on Saturday.
The inaugural programme was graced by Kethosituo Sekhose, director Youth Resources and Sports.
Sekhose in his speech spoke on the importance of sports and encouraged the associations to come together and work to create a platform for the sportpersons in the state.
He admitted that sports infrastructure in the state needed improvements and assured that government was putting effort to improve the sports facility.
Short speech was also delivered by Kohima District Shooting Association (KDSA) patron Pele Khezhie.
The valedictory programme was graced by KDSA patron, Dr.Tsielhoutuo Rhutso.
Earlier, the program was began with an invocation by Ruokuovituo Robert Catechist CKS. Visasielie Suohu president KDSA delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks by KDSA vice president, Metekhrielie Mejura.
Results of the winners:
In 10 meters air rifle peep sight (men), Medophrezo Sekhose won the first position followed by Theja Vizo Sorhie and Vikuovolie Keyho. In 10 meters air rifle peep sight (women) the first position was won by Uneinuo Solo followed by Kikrukhrienuo Belho and Mhalekuonuo Keretsu in second and third positions.
In 10 meters air rifle open sight (men/women), Menuobeilie Yiese won the first position and the second and third positions went to Thepfuvikho Kuotsu and Kevikulie Yaotsu.
In, 10 meters air rifle pistol the first position was bagged by Menuobeilie Yiese, while Khriekuonuo Khezhie and Vikuo Metha bagged the second and third positions and in Air Rifle 25 metres bench rest (men), Keneilhouzo Chielie won the first position and Kerol Kera and Khriesanyu Miachieo in second and third positions.
