ABAM-YM organises ‘sports and scripture engagement’ programme

Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang – Youth Ministry (ABAM-YM) organised a two-day “sports and scripture engagement” programme for zone eight and nine on May 2-3 at Padumpukhuri Ao Baptist Church.
In a press release, ABAM executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener said sports was an activity that focuses on a person’s holistic development and fitness. He said sports shape the individual’s personality and provide an enormous opportunity to acknowledge God’s ultimate source of the talents given to the individual.

Importantly, Rev. Mar said sports allow the church to take the gospel beyond the four walls of the church building and reach out to many outside the church.
Realising the strength and importance of sports in strengthening the youth ministry, he said “sports and scripture engagement” was organised.

As the youth ministry continues to reach out to many youths through sports, Rev. Mar expressed the hope that God would help them make a significant impact on the church and society.
Altogether, 53 youths from 14 churches attended the programme. The resource persons were, Dr. Viposa Kiso, Putinok, ABAM-YM secretary, Toshi Sanglir, and ABAM-YM coordinator, Tekatemjen.
