With the enforcement of model code of conduct due to Assembly polls in Assam, the proposed bandh between Mariani-New Sonowal-Mokokchung has been quashed by authorities in Assam with effect from March 5 afternoon. A notification issued by ADC Mangkolemba, Imtiwapang Aier stated that indefinite bandh was called by various NGOs of Assam to protest against the dilapidated road conditions in the area despite assurance given by BRO.
