DHS Mon reviews healthcare facilities and services

District Health Society (DHS) Mon, during its review meeting on May 15, deliberated on the healthcare facilities and services, including activities and actions carried out by the medical department across the district.


A press release by National Health Mission (NHM) Mon stated that during the meeting, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Mon, Dr Imnapokim, in an effort to raise reporting standards and addressing minute problems at their level, advised the Senior Medical Officers (SMOs), Medical Officers (MOs) to prioritise monitoring and supervision of the villages under the care of their individual health facilities.


In order to increase the department’s ability to achieve overall goals, Dr Imnapokim asked the District Program Officers (DPOs) of each vertical program to stay in constant communication and to update the activities/actions contained in their plan.


Following his recent monitoring visit to seven facilities, Dr Thomas gave a brief summary on the data of Out Patient Department (OPD), Antenatal Care (ANC), deliveries, hypertension screening, TB screening, registration in Nagaland Pollution Control Broad Authorization (NPCBA), self-assessment – NQAS/kayalp, ayushman cards generation, referral transport-log book to be maintained. He also highlighted the assessment tool on heat preparedness.


A PowerPoint presentation on the data collected from the Health Management Information System (HMIS) report on maternal health and child health comparing each block with its target was delivered by DPO (UIP&RCH), Dr Wungyong. Family planning, headcount survey adolescent health, vaccination and introduction of PCV 14 in the UIP were also highlighted.


One vertical programme at a time was discussed by the respective DPOs, including NCD programme officer Dr Rongsennungla, DPO DAPCU Longyim and DPO DVBDCP, Dr Abenthung, district pharmacy officer, Limayanger and drug control officer, Imnawapang.


Later, MO CHC Aboi Dr Hangsa, MO CHC Tobu Dr Pangjong, MO PHC Chen Dr Shokwang, MO PHC Tizit Dr Taliwati, MO PHC Wakching Dr Chingyen put forth their grievances and challenges. The meeting was chaired by deputy CMO Mon, Dr Thomas Keppen.
