As part of academic and extracurricular activities, various programmes and activities were organised by educational institutions and other organisations for the student community and faculties.
Programmes were also organised to felicitate the successful candidates for the High School Leaving Certificate (HLSC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) 2024 examinations.
39 Sanis AC: Advisor, Mhathung Yanthan felicitated two HSLC toppers, Machilo Yanthan (Rank 1) and Eliyani R Ovung (Rank 8), both from 39 Sanis Assembly Constituency, Saturday at a felicitation programme at E-Space, Duncan Bosti, Dimapur.
Congratulating the students, Mhathung lauded them for their achievement and bringing laurels not only to the constituency but to the entire Lotha community. He advised the students to remain obedient and consistent in achieving their desired goals.
Mhathung also acknowledged and congratulated the parents and teachers for their support.
At the programme, invocation was said by Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur (LBCD) associate pastor Lanlongo Yanthan, a special prayer for the toppers was said by LBCD senior pastor Reverend Zanao Mozhui and greetings was delivered by Reverend Moses Murry of the Assembly of God, East India. ANTA: All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Hq Kohima, organised a felicitation programme for the successful children of its members during a programme at Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT), on Saturday. A total of 36 students including 22 who passed out in HSLC and 14 in HSSLC were given cash awards and citations during the occasion.
Speaking as the guest, president, Angami Students Union (ASU), Khriesamhalie David Mere, while congratulating the successful candidates, expressed happiness that the number of successful students was gradually increasing with each year.
In a short speech, ANTA Hq Kohima president, Dziesevituo Solo, said it was proud moment for association as many children of its members had come out in flying colors.
He reiterated its stand that the the Kohima unit would continue to work for the welfare of its members like it has been doing for the past few years. (Correspondent)
NU: The Department of Chemistry, Nagaland University (NU) on May 16 organised an interactive workshop on career guidance on “How to prepare for UPSC examination” with Chubalemba B. Chang, who cleared 2024 UPSC, as the resource person.
Addressing the audience of faculty, students and scholars, Chang detailed the highs and lows of his six-year endeavour to crack one of the most challenging examinations in India. “Persistence is key,” he emphasised, recounting his repeated attempts and the lessons learned with each try.
Chang shared valuable insights into his preparation strategy, including time management, the importance of a well-structured study plan, and the need for mental and emotional well-being. He stressed the importance of understanding the syllabus thoroughly and advised aspirants to stay updated with current affairs, an integral part of the UPSC examination. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, where Chang provided personalized advice to aspiring M.Sc. students and research scholars.
KLC: As part of the Nagaland University syllabus, Kohima Law College (KLC) conducted “Moot Court” on May 17 at its auditorium under the teacher-in-charge, assistant professor, Kezhokhoto Savi.
In his address, Savi said the purpose of organising and conducting a moot court was to help law students to become successful lawyers. He said integrity, hard work and honesty are considered to be the three most essential pillars to becoming a successful lawyer in modern society. During the “Moot Court”, a total of 62 mooters of 31 each participated and argued on the points of law.
SCC: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Sao Chang College (SCC) observed the “International Museum Day” on May 18 by launching the tribal museum catalogue titled, “Connecting with Local Communities”.
While launching the catalogue, SCC vice principal, Longtichang Tzudir, spoke briefly on the theme of International Museum Day, “Sustainability and well-being” focussing on how museums contribute to the sustainable development of communities and the well-being of individuals.
