NSUD calls for vigilance against scams

Considering the alarming instances of fraudulent job offers targeting Naga individuals that were putting the community members at significant risk, Naga Students’ Union Dehradun (NSUD) has urged all members of the Naga community and all those considering job opportunities to be extremely vigilant and cautious to avoid falling victim to such scams.

To prevent further exploitation and ensure safety, NSUD president Bopeto K Shohe and general secretary Temjensangba in a statement called for following certain guidelines, which included always verifying the credentials and legitimacy of any job offer received, emphasising that no offer should be accepted at face value, especially those that seem too good to be true.

Further, before accepting any job offer based in Dehradun or elsewhere, they appealed for contacting the union for assistance and verification, assuring “We are here to help you validate the authenticity of these offers.”

They also called for engaging with fellow Nagas in Dehradun, besides sharing information and seeking advice from the community to ensure that no one fall victim to these scams, adding that they were there to support and guide.

For any concern or assistance, NSUD said they can contact the general secretary Temjensangba (9863726451/8794694858) and women coordinator Vekhoculu Chuzho (9233146714).

Stating that they were immensely proud and happy to see that members of the Naga community were making their mark and establishing themselves in cities across the country, NSUD emphasised that as they expanded and thrived in various regions, it was crucial to stay connected, informed, and vigilant to protect themselves from potential threats.
