Advisor of Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak inaugurated a Health and Wellness Centre-Sub Centre (HWC-SC) at Mon Village, Friday. A press release by National Health Mission (NHM) Mon informed that in his address at the inaugural programme, Wangpang explained the history, procedure, and approval of HWC-SC.
Mentioning that HWC-SC’s ability to operate successfully would depend mostly on the quality of its service delivery, he asked the department and the service providers to constantly fulfil the needs of the people when it arises.
The advisor also thanked minister of health and family welfare, Paiwang Konyak, for bringing health care services to the people of Mon village. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Longleng, Dr. Imnapokim, asked the community to cooperate and be a part of the Village Health Committee (VHC) to smoothly run the centre. He said the department would provide instruments, equipment, manpower and medicines but community cooperation and support were required for the centre to function. CMO said that HWC-SC staff and the community should work hand in hand and take ownership of the sub centre.
Dr. Imnapokim also HWC-SC staff to recommit to their work by being more truthful, honest and sincere towards their duty. The programme was chaired by Shingwang; invocation prayer by deacon, Tingmo; welcome address was delivered by vice chairman, Nokpen; a vote of thanks by MVSC president, Nahpang; and the pastor of Mon Village Baptist Church, PS Pulei, led the dedicatory prayer.
