NSCN (I-M) condemns SFs ‘clandestine operations’

NSCN (I-M) has condemned Indian security forces for allegedly conducting “clandestine operations” with the Kuki National Army (B) (KNA-B) targeting the Naga Army and Meitei revolutionaries within the Western Southeast Asia (WeSEA) region.

In a statement issued through its MIP, NSCN (I-M) accused the Assam Rifles and Para Regiment of playing a dubious role under the pretense of guarding the sensitive Indo-Myanmar border in Kamjong district, Manipur.

They claimed that the Naga Army was attacked by a combined force of KNA (B) and Indian security personnel. NSCN (I-M) alleged that while Kukis were allowed free movement across the border, non-Kukis faced discrimination.

They further claimed that weapons and ammunition were freely flowing towards Myanmar, where KNA (B) operates under the Democratic Alliance Army against the junta, a maneuver allegedly led by Indian security forces.

The organization also alleged that male refugees were being used by Assam Rifles for espionage and reconnaissance, claiming that these refugees had become henchmen for the AR.
According to the statement, KNA (B) has turned into a group consisting of Kukis from Bangladesh, Manipur, and Myanmar, allegedly under the command of 21 Para Regiment and 8th Assam Rifles to combat the Naga Army and WeSEA revolutionaries.

NSCN (I-M) criticized the Assam Rifles for maintaining an inimical and antagonistic stance against them on flimsy ground despite the 1997 ceasefire agreement between the Government of India and NSCN.
They described the AR’s ongoing hostility as unjustifiable and absurd.

The organization claimed that since the Indian security forces started covert operations against the Naga Army at Myothit, in collaboration with KNA (B) using drones, there has been an increase in frisking along the Hebron designated camp to Dimapur road.
