The newly inducted DNSU team will be led by Hinoto P. Aomi as president and Michael Kath as general secretary.

In his solidarity message, Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) president Etsungmomo Kikon expressed concerns about the repeated installation programmes for the same tenure and the internal disagreements within DNSU.

Kikon emphasized the need for adherence to the organization’s constitution and guidelines, urging members to focus on student welfare and unity. He emphasized that DNSU is a vibrant, disciplined, and apex student organization in Dimapur, dedicated to the welfare of the student community and urged the union to prioritize unity and collaboration to effectively serve the students.

NSF president Medovi Rhi, in his solidarity message, highlighted the historical foundation of the federation on October 29, 1947, by visionary student leaders.
He commended DNSU’s role and urged the new team to uphold the faith and hope placed in them by the student body, warning against actions that could jeopardize the student body along political, tribal, and territorial lines.

“We must be able to see beyond divisions and boundaries, and become the divinity force in bring our fragmented parts into one large string family”, he stated.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, expressed his hope for collaboration between the student body and district administration for the betterment of Dimapur.
He acknowledged the HPC-NSF for resolving the long-standing issue within DNSU and urged the new members to seek advice from seniors.

Outgoing president Moayanger Jamir reflected on his tenure with gratitude and urged the new team to assume their roles with humility, commitment, and dedication.
Newly inducted president Hinoto P. Aomi thanked the HPC-NSF for their trust and pledged that his team would work diligently to address Naga students’ problems, prioritize their welfare, and promote peace and harmony.

Later, interacting with the media, HPC-NSF convenor Mteisuding explained that NSF had to intervene due to unresolved internal issues within DNSU. He expressed confidence in the eligibility and efficiency of the new team, hoping they would bring positive change.
He said that the HPC declared the previous decision of the nominating committee null and void, facilitating the formation of a new team for DNSU.

ILP issue: When asked about implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland, NSF president Medovi Rhi clarified that NSF’s focus was on combating illegal immigration rather than ILP itself.

He acknowledged the complications faced by the state government in implementing ILP but mentioned that the federation had written to the chief secretary, appealing for the early establishment of check posts.

The other members of DNSU include– Tesiding Newmai as speaker, WS Kahor as deputy speaker, R Michael Yanthan as vice president, Rukuwezo Wetsah as assistant general secretary, Khrieketuozo Natso as finance secretary, Tsuktilong Jamir as games and sports secretary and Kevin Gonmei as education secretary.
