Training on production of summer crops

A two-day training programme on “production technology and pest management of summer vegetable crops” was organised by the State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) Medziphema on May 30-31.


A press release by SAMETI Medziphema stated that during the course of the training, senior technical assistant, department of entomology, Nagaland University: School of Agricultural Sciences (NU: SAS) Medziphema Campus, J. Akato Chishi, and Dr. Abon Yanthan (vegetable science), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Jharnapani, emphasised introduction to Integrated Pest Management (IPM), the utilization of IPM techniques for insect pest management of summer vegetable crops, scientific production technology of vegetables in Nagaland.


The participants were also taken for a field visit to the department of entomology, NU: SAS, Medziphema Campus and vegetable farm under District Horticulture Office (DHO) Niuland. A total of 25 ATMA functionaries attended the training.
