Er. Kropol inspects work on Jakhama-Viswema bridge

Advisor of Prisons and Printing & Stationery, Er. Kropol Vitsu on Sunday inspected the ongoing restoration works of a bridge (near E- Service Station) on National Highway-2 between Jakhama-Viswema and expressed satisfaction with the restoration works carried out on a war-footing.

Briefing the advisor, the contractor informed that the bridge would be restored within the next two days, until which, restrictions on movement of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) beyond 12 tonnes would continue.
Earlier on June 1, the advisor called on General Manager of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Gajendra Singh Rana, and expressed concern about the dilapidated condition of the bridge and the Kohima-Mao Road. It may be noted that the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima had suspended vehicular traffic over the bridge for HMV beyond 12 tonnes.
