Pochury Hoho Kohima (PHK), Pochury Women Organisation Kohima (PWOK) and Pochury Students Union Kohima (PSUK) have vehemently condemned the alleged physical torture and abuse of an 11-year-old minor girl.
In a joint statement, president of PHK, general secretaries of PWOK and PSUK said the incident took place at Jotsoma wherein they alleged that Dr. Vibino Sabina hailing from Khonoma village and presently residing at Jotsoma had been regularly harassing and physically torturing the minor girl since last year until her rescue by the Child Welfare Committee Kohima on May 30. The organizations appealed to the concerned authorities for prompt and appropriate action as per the law and deliver justice to the victim at the earliest. They also called upon all right-thinking citizens to come forward and condemn such inhuman act.
Meanwhile, the organizations expressed gratitude to the principal and staff of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma for observing and rescuing the minor child and reporting the matter to the concerned authority and also the CWC Kohima for timely intervention and protection of the minor child.
