Advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan on Monday accompanied by senior officers from the directorate of Agriculture and Kohima District office, made an unplanned visit to Kigwema village, where he toured several fields and interacted extensively with local farmers.
The visit was aimed to assess the practical use and efficiency of various agricultural machinery and to provide a platform for farmers to voice their concerns. Yanthan observed the impact of different agricultural tools on productivity and listened to farmers’ issues regarding equipment availability, input supply, and farm road accessibility and discussions also covered market access, pest management, and sustainable farming practices.
He highlighted on the ongoing efforts to improve agricultural infrastructure and emphasized the importance of such field visits in shaping policies that reflect farmers’ actual needs.
