Churches under the Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjüm (KBBB) observed the last Sunday (June 2) as the Environment Sunday with the theme: “Earth Care”.
In a press release, Rev. A. Peihwang Wangsa Education & Literature Secretary Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjüm, Mon informed on the day, priestly thanksgiving prayer and mass confession for misusing of the natural resources was offered in every Church.
Meanwhile, the Hills Area Development Organization (HADO), Konjong Higher Secondary School (KHSS), Mission School Angjangyang (MSA), Bangjüm Primary Schools at Longzang village and Nyahnyu village under the aegis of the Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjüm (KBBB) observed the World Environment Day.
The day activities began with the invocation by the executive secretary, KBBB Rev. L. Metjen.
To mark the day, a mass plantation drive was organised at the Mission Centre community in the morning and followed by cleaning of riverside, roadside plantation, hoisting of environment awareness banner at Tapi River near Mon District Headquarters.
Director of Hills Area Development Organization, P.Y Wilson acknowledged the District Administration, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) under Bheti Bachao, Beti Badao, Forest Department and Konjong Higher Secondary School for their cooperation and support.
