Ang Mai-led NSCN(K) commemorated the 7th death anniversary of “founding member and father of NSCN” late S.S. Khaplang. In a press note, MIP said that the collective leadership of NSCN led by chairman ‘maj. gen.’ (Rtd.) Ang Mai, vice-chairman Nyeiton Konyak and general secretary Kughalu Mulatonu solemnly reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to carry forward his legacy and principles of the People’s Republic of Nagaland.
MIP said that the principles of “self-sufficiency, socialism and Nagaland for Christ” championed by late S.S. Khaplang and his comrades late Isak Chishi Swu and Th. Muivah will remain the cornerstone and footstool of the NSCN/GPRN.
It said that the undying spirit of a unified Naga revolution and nationalism envisioned by Khaplang can only come through forgiveness, dialogue and the rejection of fratricide.
Therefore, in keeping with S.S. Khaplang’s principle of forgive and forget” and “Nagaland for Christ”’, NSCN said it will continue to uphold these Christian socialist values. MIP said that the NSCN endorsed free and fair dialogue, establish friendly and sympathetic relations and strive for peace and unity among the Nagas.
“It was our late Baba S.S. Khaplang whose vigilance and sacrifices secured all files and orders of Heneral Headquarters (GHQ) since the era of NNC to NSCN Naga Army,” it added.
On his death anniversary, NSCN called upon well-wishers from far and near and the Nagas to honor the memory of S.S. Khaplang and his immense contributions and urged all to continue supporting his visionary ideals for the Nagas.
