Students bodies felicitate HSLC/HSSLC candidates; activities organised for students, teachers

Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) and Sendenyu Lojvü Students’ Union (SLSU) organised a felicitation programme for the successful candidates of HSLC and HSSLC examination 2024 while GHS Thahekhu and Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) as part of academic and extracurricular activities organised programmes for students and teachers.


ZSUN: Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) organised a felicitation programme at Jubilee Hall, St. Xavier Parish Church, Jalukie to honor meritorious students on Saturday. Addressing the gathering as special guest, Rtd Principal District & Session Judge and former State Information Commissioner of Nagaland, G H Ramlia emphasized the unique challenges faced by the current generation, who are highly exposed to global changes. However, he highlighted the necessity of discerning reliable and worthwhile information amidst the vast array available.

“The present generation is indeed blessed with information at their fingertips,” he remarked, “but it is crucial to differentiate what is good, reliable, and worth taking.” ZSUN president Adaube Hiekha, in his welcome note, praised the meritorious students for their dedication and hard work. He also encouraged those who did not recognized as rank holders, reminding them that success comes in many forms and every step forward is progress towards their goals. (Staff Reporter)


SLSU: Sendenyu Lojvü Students’ Union (SLSU) held its 5th felicitation programme for HSLC and HSSLC successful candidates 2024 on June 8 at NGRC-1CU conference hall, secretariat road, Kohima.
The programme was graced by Rukulü Thong, Assistant Commandant of the 4th NAP, Thizama.

Rukulü in her address congratulated to the students for their hard-earned success. She also reminded the students that journey of competition and self-improvement begins as early as when they complete their Class 10 and 12 examinations.


Drawing from her personal experiences and disciplined practice, Thong offered valuable advice to the students and encouraged them to maintain a well-planned routine that allows for effective time management and organization.
Speech on behalf of the passed out students was delivered by Hengwani Thong HSLC passed out student.


Short speech was delivered by Runoha Khing president, SYO.
The program was chaired by Kenihile Kemp women coordinator, SLSU and welcome note by Shozenlo Seb president, SLSU.


Altogether, 50 successful candidates in the HSLC and HSSLC examination 2024 were felicitated by Ndalo Kent general secretary, SLSU.
Statistical report was given by Gwakenye Kent Asst. Statistical Secretary SLSU while the words of gratitude was conveyed by Solomon Kemp vice president, SLSU.


A prayer for the passed out students was said by the pastoral team.
Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by Ahyulo Kemp Associate Pastor, RBCKand benediction by Sarah Kemp Asst. Youth Pastor, SBYM.


GHS Thahekhu: One-day institutional visit took place on June 5, at the ATAL Tinkering Lab in Purana Bazar, Dimapur for the students of Class 10, Government High School, Thahekhu, Dimapur.
The visit was organized by GHS, Thahekhu, vocational trainer (Electronics), Atovi Awomi, with the aim of inspiring and motivating the students beyond the confines of the classroom.


During the visit, assistant Manager at ATAL Tinkering Lab, Alemtemjen, presented demonstrating how programming can be utilized in robotics. Additionally, he provided an explanation about the fundamentals of electronics as applied in machinery and robotics. The students were also given the opportunity for hands-on experience in constructing various models using Ariduno Uno.


MCTE: Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) organised a “Send-Off Program” for the Outgoing Student Teachers, Batch of 2022-2024 on June 5, with Society of Alumni, MCTE president Dr. Imnatoshi, as the special invitee.


Dr. Imnatoshi emphasised on the importance of knowing and caring for the students and bringing out the best in them by focusing more on learning by the students rather than the teaching process, as teaching is not useful unless there is learning. He advised the Student Teachers to not get morphed into a system that is unproductive but to find ways to bring change in the society, however small it may be. He further encouraged the student teachers to be creative and to harness the transformative power of education; and not to be complacent whatever the challenges they may face but to overcome it with a positive mindset.

MCTE vice principal Dr.Temsurenla, in her short speech appreciated the outgoing Student Teachers for their creativity and perseverance. She further encouraged them to be humane educational practitioners, and to make the right decision in life, taking by the example of the Parable of the Wise and the Foolish Builders from the Scripture.
