Plea for safe release of GB

Various unions have stepped up appeals for safe release of Khezheto Chishi, GB of Yesholutomi village, who was allegedly abducted by NSCN (I-M) activists at gun point from Shalom Hotel, Kohima on June 29.
Dimapur Area Yesholutomi Village Union (DAYVU) in a press release jointly issued by its chairman Toluvi Chishi, general secretary Khevito, joint secretary Nihoto Awomi and publicity secretary Kughaho alleged that one ‘Capt’ Akuto of NSCN (I-M) from Ighanumi village, alongwith four to five persons abducted the GB at gun point.
The abductors later rang up the youngest brother of the GB at around 7:18 p.m and asked him in Sumi dialect as to which faction Khezheto was working for.
Also appealing to the State government and its law enforcing agencies to trace Khezheto Chishi, the union said the government and law enforcing agencies should own full moral responsibility since the “village chief” was abducted in the middle of Kohima town.
The union further urged the NSCN (I-M) to look into the gravity of the situation and to release the GB on humanitarian ground.
Kohima Emlotomi Union (KEU) president Ghoshito Chophi and general secretary Vikugha Chishi in a press release requested the collective authority of the NSCN (I-M) to release Khezheto Chishi.
Family members of the abducted GB have also appealed to the faction responsible for safe release of Khezheto and said he was not linked with any organization, other than his function as a GB.
Meanwhile, a corrigendum issued by GBs Association Atoizu Range said according to police report, one “Captain Akuto” of NSCN (I-M) was responsible for the abduction of Khezheto.
