Footpath, wall damaged by mudslide

A mud slide triggered by rain in Penli ward, Mokokchung damaged a footpath and caused a retaining wall to collapse on four houses on June 27. One of the affected residents informed the State Disaster Management Response Force (SDRF) of Mokokchung and under the supervision of DC Mokokchung, the SDRF team, consisting of ten members, arrived at the scene to assess the damage.


According to SDRF, the mudslide was caused by loose soil, leading to the collapse of the community footpath and retaining wall. Among the affected house, the residence of Tsungtaluba Imchen (House No. 20, Lawrence Imchen) was on the verge of collapse.
