In an effort to promote environmental conservation, Kohima Longsa Hoho (KLH) organized a tree sapling distribution at the Longsa Village Cultural Hall Wokha on June 29. At the programme, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Wokha, Elithung Odyuo, emphasized the critical importance of planting trees.
Executive Secretary of Kohima Longsa Hoho, Benri Ezung, explained the purpose of the Village Garden and tree planting initiative, stressing its significant contribution to combating global warming. Reverend L.K. Tsanglao also appealed to the villagers to diligently care for the newly planted trees.
The event, chaired by Er. Zarenthung Kikon, chairman of Kohima Longsa Hoho, began with an invocation by Thungdemo Timothy Ezung, Catechist of St. Peter Church Longsa. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ponphyamo Kikon, chairman of Longsa Village Council, followed by a benediction prayer by Rev L.K. Tsanglao, Pastor of Longsa Baptist Church.
