Man convicted for raping 3 minors

One person was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment, five years simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 30,000 for sexually molesting and raping three minor students on different occasions while they were at a study centre, where he was a warden.


According to Addl. public prosecutor Kenile Kent Tuensang, POCSO special judge Longshithung Ezung convicted Namang Chang, for committing the crime under various Sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
The period of sentence would run consecutively, which would be 25 years in total. The prosecution was led by Special PP, while investigation officer of the case was Asst SI Chilliam.
