Anti-malaria month observed in Mon

National Center for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC, Mon) observed anti-malaria month from June 1 to 30, ahead of the monsoon and transmission season. According to media officer, NHM Mon, Leeyan Chemsly Aier, the goal of the campaign was to raise community awareness and encourage participation with the theme, “accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable world.”


A cleanliness drive, awareness workshops on reducing the risk of source and transmission, regular use of long-lasting insecticide nets (LLIN), preventive strategies, treatment, diagnosis, and service availability were among the activities conducted in every block of the district. Additionally, a health camp was organized in 15 selected villages to screen for malaria.


Malaria inspectors, surveillance inspectors, surveillance workers, malaria technical supervisors and Ashas carried out the activities during the campaign led by District Vector Borne Officer, Dr. Abenthung Murry.
