Body of missing youth retrieved from Doyang

The body of a 25-year-old boy, who had gone missing after being washed away at Dzüvürü stream on June 27, 2024, was retrieved after 10 days by fishermen from Pangti village at Doyang Dam on July 6.


According to District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) nodal officer, L Jonjibemo Odyuo, the body was retrieved at 1pm from the Tzuza Eryu area near Phodong Resort at Doyang Dam.


It was reported that extensive searches conducted by authorities and volunteers from various villages remained unsuccessful. However, on July 6, fishermen informed the authorities that a corpse was sighted at Doyang Dam. Later, the officials confirmed that the body was of the missing boy identified as Rendemo Odyuo.


Police personnel have completed all necessary legal formalities and handed over the body to the family deceased. Final rites were scheduled to be conducted at Odyuo’s native village Yikhum.
