Dimapur Government College (DGC) celebrated its 58th foundation day -cum- 1st Graduation Day on July 25, at the college auditorium. The collaborative program of the Parent Teacher Association of DGC and the college authorities led by its principal and IQAC was attended by the graduates, senior students, parents, faculty members, staff and well-wishers where many awards and certificates were handed out in academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular categories.
On the occasion, the ‘Dr. Hokishe Sema Award’ for Topper in Arts was jointly bagged by two students- Imlikumla Longkumer (Economics) and Pauleuhing Teilia (Pol. Science), who also shared the ‘College Topper Award”.
The L.T. Yepthomi Award for Topper in Commerce was bagged by Juny Maya (Commerce).
Besides those awards, different departments of the college gave out awards to their respective subject toppers. All awards carried cash prizes and commendation certificates.
Certificates for special contribution and achievements were also handed out to students who had excelled in various activities within and outside the college.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Jimokli Z. Zhimomi, special prayer for graduating students by Dr. Hannah Tia, graduation speech by Pauleuhing Teilia, principal, Prof. Sanjay Sharma welcomed the gatherings, special number by Lengnio of BA 3 Sem, Ningshijungla Longchar expressed appreciation towards the PTA of DGC and vote of thanks by Dr. A. Sentiyula.
