KVK Zbto-NU celebrates golden jubilee

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Zunheboto, Nagaland University under ATARI-Zone-VII celebrated the golden jubilee at its campus in Lumami on July 30. KVK Zunheboto, principal scientist and head, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, highlighted about the mandate and activities of KVK in India and its establishment in 1974 at Puducherry. He explained how KVK Zunheboto is playing a vital role in empowering farmers and bridging the gap between research and extension services. He requested the farmers to join hands together for enhancing better productivity of crops and animals and make themselves self-sufficient.


Nagaland University, Registrar, Dr. Abemo applauded the KVK fraternity for significant contributions in the development of agriculture for the farming community and requested the farmers and KVK to join hands together for enhancing the farmers socio-economic condition.


To observe the Golden Jubilee, ICAR had started a torch rally (Torch Prayan) that would culminate at the ICAR-KVK golden jubilee conference 2024 in New Delhi. As part of the rally the torch received from KVK Tuensang by KVK, Zunheboto, Nagaland University was handed over to KVK Mon by Dr. Abemo.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Chief Technical Officer (GPB & Agronomy), Dr. Visakho Shunyu.
