Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) has warned traders exploiting the ongoing truckers’ strike by unjustifiably raising prices of essential commodities. Taking serious note of complaints, MCCI president Tsukti Longkumer said that such unethical practices will not be tolerated.
The trade body directed traders involved to immediately stop these practices and warned that any further violations will lead to strict legal consequences.
Those resorting to unfair means should consider closing their businesses voluntarily before facing legal repercussions, it added. “These are challenging times, and as responsible citizens, we should be assisting our valued customers rather than exploiting them,” MCCI stated. Further, MCCI has appealed to the public to report such matter to the MCCI at: 9436006062; 9436442800 and 9436605461.
