Kohima DDMA forms panel to monitor landslide at Dzüdza

Kohima District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has formed a committee to visit and monitor the landslide affected area on NH-29 near Dzüdza bridge under Sechü-Zubza Kohima.


According to DIPR, the committee to be headed by ADC and CEO DDMA Kohima Rhosietho Nguori as chairman was formed at an emergency meeting of the DDMA at the DPDB hall Kohima on Tuesday. Following the assessment, the committee would draft a plan to mitigate the occurrence of continuous landslides and submit a report for further action by higher authorities.


The emergency meeting discussed the issue of landslide that has impacted traffic and the supply of essential commodities. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kumar Ramnikant, who chaired the meeting, informed that SDO (Civil) Sechü-Zubza, along with village authorities and contractor personnel had inspected the upper reaches of the landslide area and submitted a report.


The meeting emphasised the need to channelise traffic, particularly for trucks carrying essential commodities, fuel, and medicines. Additionally, teams were proposed to visit stranded trucks and provide basic assistance to truckers in need. All concerned agencies have been directed to maintain other used roads properly for commuters.
