CTAN backs demand for extension of age relaxation

Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has extended support to the Concerned Aspirants Group’s demand for continuation of age relaxation for entry into government services till 37 years in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a press release, CTAN convenor Er. Meshenlo Kath and co-convenor Kaqheto said that some aspirations had been deprived of their right to appear for NPSC/NSSB because of the age limitation rule, which permits aspirants to appear NPSC/NSSB examination till the age of 35.

However, CTAN said that in the case of the concerned aspirants group, their issue stemmed from the time of COVID-19; two years without any competitive examination effected all aspirants regardless of the age limit.

It stated that the government taking the COVID-19 gap issued an order from P&AR department giving relaxation to aspirants for two years. However, CTAN said the order failed to understand the actual issue.
It said the order No. AR-5/ASSO/98 (vol-1) from the P&AR benefited those candidates over 35 years from the time of implementation of the order, but failed to do the same for those aspirants nearing 35years and those below.

Combined Technical Association of Nagaland maintained that the order No. AR-5/ASSO/98 (voll) from the P&AR should be extended and continued for another 5 years.
