Following the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) at Thizama Village under Chiephobozou Block, Kohima district, Deputy Commissioner Kohima has notified and declared ban within 1 km radius of the infected area, designated as ‘infected zone’, DIPR stated.
Additionally, a 10 km radius from the infected site, including 9 km radius outside the ‘infected zone’, has been designated as a ‘surveillance zone’. In this regard, a ban has been imposed on the slaughter of pigs, the import and export of pigs and piglets, and the transportation of pigs and pork until further orders. The public has been requested to adhere strictly to these restrictions to aid in the containment of the disease.
