Social audit state level social justice assembly under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment (DoSJE) reaffirmed on August 30 the district social justice assembly’s resolutions and adopted 10-point resolution after thorough deliberation.
In a press release, NSSAA social audit unit assistant director Imlirenla Sanglir informed that the resolutions were passed following the review made on the audit findings by the panel members of the assembly.
The ten -point resolution included: 1) Timely release of funds to the institutions by the Ministry; 2) Timely recommendation by the State Government to be made in regards to project proposal for fund release; 3) State Government to suggest guidelines to have a more flexible approach towards implementation of the scheme according to the needs of the people; 4) To conduct vocational trainings on skill building/occupational programmes for the inmates; 5) Outdoor activities for the inmates to be organized by the institutions; 6) To aid the inmates on application of Aadhar card for availing old age pension; 7) To aid the inmates on applications regarding AYUSHMAN cards/CMHIS in coordination with concerned departments; 8) The House recommended the Central Ministry to appoint a nodal person as a Point of Contact (PoC) to deal with institutional requirements; 9) The House recommended that the fund release order be shared with the Nodal Department by the Central Ministry and 10) Open cases to be addressed by the Institutions/Implementing Agencies with Action Taken Reports (ATRs) on or before Sept.30 , 2024.
State level social justice assembly for the districts of Kohima and Dimapur implemented during FY 2022-23 was held in the Conference Hall, Directorate of Social Welfare, Kohima on Aug 30, 2024 with an objective to review the process, coverage, issues and action taken status on the findings of social audit.
Altogether, three Schemes—IRCA, SrCH under AVYAY and PMAJAY—were audited covering seven institutions including Bethesda Youth Welfare Center, Prodigals Home, Integrated Rehabilatation Center for Addicts (IRCA); Good Samaritan Women Society and Yimkong Welfare Society (SrCH); Construction of Hostels for SC Students (PMAJAY) in Kohima and Dimapur districts.
The decretary, Social Welfare & chairman, SLSJA Marthe R. Ritse, who is also the chairman of DoSJE Panel members, Nagaland, addressed and chaired the assembly. Imtitoshi I Jamir, director, NSSAA, Social Audit Unit gave the introductory speech.
Imlirenla Sanglir, assistant director and Sezolu Swuro, district Resource Person of NSSAA, Social Audit Unit Nagaland highlighted the social audit findings. The panel members in attendance were Tosheli Zhimomi, director, Social Welfare Department & member secretary DoSJE panel; T. Nungsang Sangtam, additional secy, Home Department; Johnny Humtsoe, joint secretary, Rural Development Department and T. Nchumbemo Odyuo, additional secy., Urban & Municipal Affairs.
Vivika Shohe, programme officer representing NRCSA-DoSJE, Delhi and Kezhosano Kikhi, Advocate, Kohima Bench, Guahati High Court representing CSO attended the assembly.
Stakeholders of all the institutions headed by Directors, Officials from Social Welfare Department; officials from the H&TE Department headed by the joint secretary & Ex-Officio director Lovitoly Sema (NCS) participated in the Social Justice Assembly.
