The month long Poshan Maah 2024 under the initiative of government of India with focus on promoting nutrition related awareness and well-being across the nation was launched in Diphupar and Jakhama.
Social Welfare Department, CDPO ICDS Rural Dimapur launched the 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah at the AWTC, Diphupar. CDPO Rural Project Dimapur kick started the launching of Poshan Maah on August 31 by a special plantation campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” where all the Anganwadi workers planted trees in the premises of the Anganwadi Centres.
Delivering keynote address, EAC Chumoukedima, Kevethito Rosee encouraged the Anganwadi workers to continue to do the good work and called them the “Ambassadors of Social Change” and encouraged them to increase community engagement.
He also stressed on the four Pillars of Poshan Abhiyan, i.e the use of Information Technology, Convergence of departments, Capacity Building and Awareness Campaign and also led the Poshan Pledge along with the ICDS functionaries.
CDPO Unice Sema gave a brief introduction on Poshan Maah explaining the various themes that will be conducted on topics such as Anemia, Growth Monitoring, Complimentary Feeding, Poshan BHi Padhai Bhi and Technology for better –Governance during the long month campaign.
Vote of thanks was offered by Sr.Supervisor Nyusasie Katiry. Jakhama: The month long celebration of Poshan Maah from September 1 to 30 was launched at Jakhama ICDS Project by the department of Social Welfare at CDPO office premises, Jakhama on September 2.
SDO Civil, Jakhama, Nockpai Konyak graced the occasion as special guest.
At the event, Nockpai commented on the efforts of ICDS Project Jakhama in implementing the activities of Poshan Maah programs within the Sub-Division successfully.
He encouraged the Anganwadi workers to familiarize themselves with the objectives of the Poshan Maah programme.
CDPO Jakhama, Zubemo Jami in his welcome address pointed out the importance of the nationwide awareness programmes on Pashan Maah. The program was conducted by supervisor ICDS, Jakhama, Neitsilie Nakhru while Tabunuo Mere SAA invoked God’s blessings. Block co-ordinator Kikrukhrielie Nagi led the Poshan pledge and Kenipheno LDA delivered the vote of thanks.
