Personnel of Excise Mobile squad, Chumoukedima on prohibition duty arrested one person and seized 1,75,140 tablets of Alprazolam at Molvom village, Chumoukedima on September 1.
According to Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition (MS), K. Toshiho Yeptho, the peronnel of Excise Mobile squad intercepted a Mahindra scorpio (AS01FF 3096) and during searching found the drugs concealed inside the seats and door pockets of the vehicle.
It was also informed that the drive of the vehicle, Peter Yim, failed to produce invoice for the drugs. Preliminary investigation revealed that the above mentioned vehicle was on its way to Tseminyu.
In this connection, the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and the case has been forwarded to the court.
