DSW launches Poshan Maah 2024

Department of Social Welfare (DSW) launched the month long celebration of Poshan Maah 2024, ICDS project in Longleng, Mon and Mokokchung on September 3. According to DIPR, the launching programme in Longleng was held under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Nam” at CDPO office premises, Longleng.


The launching programme was graced by Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom as special guest. In his address, Manpai encouraged the Anganwadi workers to work diligently with transparency and accountability so that people of the district were benefitted.


He also urged the gathering to disseminate information on protecting mother earth and led the Poshan Pledge. A brief note on Poshan Abhiyaan and Poshan Maah was highlighted by District coordinator S. Longhong Phom. The programme was chaired by CDPO Longleng, Anuo Longho.


MON: Deputy Commissioner Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, graced the month-long celebration of POSHA Maah, Welfare under the theme, “Suposhit Kishori Sashakt Nari” at DRDA Hall, Mon.


In his speech, DC pointed out that the main focus of the government behind POSHAN Maah, was to fight against malnutrition among children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers. He said, unless the children were provided with nutritional food they will not grow healthy and strong and capable of facing the challenges.


He appreciated the department for implementing the activities of Poshan Maah in the district and wished for the success of the month-long programme. A brief note on POSHAN Abhiyaan was delivered by CDPO (ICDS) Mon Project. Welcome Address by Yanlem DPO (ICDS) Mon and invocation by Rev. H. Moba, pastor, KBCM.


The programme was chaired by Nokyam Khoiyem, District Coordinator, POSHAN and as part of the campaign a pledge on Poshan Maah was also read out. Mokokchung: The month long Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024 was launched by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung Thsuvisie Phoji on September 2.

Launching the programme, the DC called for cooperation and coordination among the various concerned departments for convergence to successfully achieve the goal of the program.
