Kohima: Mount Olive College holds graduation Ceremony

Mount Olive College, Kohima, celebrated its 32nd Fresher’s Social cum Graduation Ceremony on August 30. The event was sponsored by Sümi Baptist Church and organized in collaboration with the Mount Olive College Students’ Council (MOCSC) and the Alumni Association.
Pro-Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Prof. Glenn T. Thong, graced the event as guest of honour.


The commencement address was delivered by Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) president, Medovi Rhi, who encouraged students to seize opportunities and congratulated top achievers, including Vihuto Achumi, who ranked sixth in the Nagaland University Undergraduate Examination 2024.


Several student achievements were recognized, including Ketou-ü Pfüsenuo, named Student of the Year 2024. Prof. Glenn T. Thong, in his address, encouraged the graduates to embody discipline, explore new career paths, and give back to society.


The ceremony commenced with a processional led by college faculty and the graduates, followed by opening remarks from Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Dr. Holika Yeptho, invocation by alumnus Mughaka Yeptho. Dr. Koseno, principal of the college, welcomed the gatherings, while K. Shiwoto Wotsa, chairman of the Governing Body, addressed the freshers, graduates, and their families and vote of thanks and a blessing by Newtoli T. Jimo, Chaplain and Counsellor.
