Hekani Jakhalu attends conferenceof Commerce and Industries ministers

Advisor of Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu represented Nagaland at the Conference of Commerce & Industries Ministers held at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, Delhi, on September 5.


The conference was chaired by Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal along with Union Minister of Stare Jitin Prasada. At the conference, Heklani highlighted that Nagaland like the rest of the Northeast has many challenges but working hard to contribute towards India’s growth story.

She mentioned that Nagaland was primarily an agrarian economy, but taking baby steps towards industrialization, with key sectors being tourism, food processing, and micro-enterprises. She further emphasized that the Northeast was the gateway to ASEAN and that a developed Northeast is India’s strength.

The focus of the conference was on strengthening Centre-State collaboration to foster a dynamic business ecosystem and drive job creation. Goyal emphasized the importance of a single window system for ease of doing business and urged all states and Union Territories to work together to attract global investments. Meanwhile, ShriJitin Prasada, underscored the significance of Centre-State cooperation to build a robust economic framework across India.
