Activities & programmes organised for students

Various educational institutions and other organisations organised programmes and activities for students and faculty as part of their extra-curricular activity.


CSU: The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) on Saturday organized a literary cum cultural competition on the theme “Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace” at Government Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero. Addressing the introductory session as the guest of honour, Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) president, Vezühü Keyho, lauded CSU for organizing such a meaningful event.


He highlighted the significance of cultural heritage in showcasing identity and underscored the importance of knowing one’s own dialect as fundamental for personal growth. Keyho encouraged the student community to inculcate a spirit of integrity.


He also emphasized on the need for students to cultivate a strong work culture and prioritize God for a successful life. CSU president Pfulo Sara in his address, expressed gratitude to all the participating units for their prompt turnout and support.


He stated that the event was not just a competition but a celebration of joy and passion, aimed at preserving the vibrant and unique culture of the Chakhesang community.


He also highlighted the recently concluded educational tour to 130 government institutions within the Union’s jurisdiction and announced plans to visit all private schools in the coming year. A cultural presentation was performed by Lower Khomi Students’ Union. Various competitions such as debate, war cry, quiz, drawing and photography were conducted during the programme.


FAC: Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung celebrated its 65th foundation day at the college auditorium on Saturday with DC Mokokchung Thsuvisie Phoji as the guest of honour. Meritorious students for the academic year 2024 were also felicitated at the function.


FAC vice principal, LS Vinod Kumar, in his welcome address said that the foundation day was a time to reflect on the beginnings and how changes have taken over the years.
He said that when celebrating the foundation day, we should not miss thanking the pioneers who had great visions to impart great education to the people and how their dedication has paved the light for their visionary approach.


FAC principal, I Wati Imchen, in his foundation day speech presented a summary of the achievements and development and growth achieved in a year by the college. He mentioned the growth in the field of academic achieved by students and also the various achievement


DC Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, in his speech congratulated FAC led by the principal for having so many faculty and staff and students excelling in their own departments.
He congratulated the meritorious awardees and said that their recognition speaks volume of their sincerity and dedication. He encouraged the students to keep up the spirt of competitiveness and take the award as an example.


The programme was chaired by asst. prof. & HOD, department of zoology, Imlinungla. The Drama Club and Music Club presented a play and a song respectively while Rev. Lima Lemdur, Pastor, Union Church, FAC pronounced the prayer for the college.


Immanuel College: One day blood donation drive was held at Immanuel College organised by Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with department of economics and Blood Bank, Dimapur on the theme “Selfless blood donors are concealed gems,” on Saturday. Resource Person, Blood Transfusion Expert, District Hospital, Mon, Dr. Temsu Ao, presented on “Life Saver: Empowering Communities through Blood Donation.”

Dr. Ao emphasized on the life-saving importance of donating blood and its impact on society. He highlighted the vital role of blood donors in maintaining healthcare systems and saving lives in emergencies.
