Nagaland receives Special Recognition in FSI 2023-24

Nagaland has been awarded Special Recognition for its overall performance on various parameters of food safety in the State Food Safety Index (FSI) 2023-24 at the recently concluded Global Food Regulators Summit 2024, held from September 19-21 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.


According to DIPR report, Nagaland emerged as the sole awardee among the North Eastern Hilly States. The Food Safety Index evaluates states based on five key criteria: Human Resources and Institutional Data, Compliance, Food Testing — Infrastructure and Surveillance, Training & Capacity Building, and Consumer Empowerment & FSSAI Initiatives. The Index is a dynamic quantitative and qualitative benchmarking model that provides an objective framework for evaluating food safety across all States/UTs.
