Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee slams Imkong’s allegation over Gau Dhwaj Sthapna Bharat Yatra

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) said it was shocked at the baseless allegations leveled against the party by adviser Imkong L Imchen regarding the cow slaughter ban promotion rally that was supposed to be held in Kohima on Saturday.

Describing his allegation that the Congress had not condemned the programme as factually incorrect, the NPCC in a press release clarified that it had strongly and unequivocally denounced the Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra through a statement on September 10.

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee said its official stance on the issue was clearly spelt out for all to see in the public domain, adding that it would have done some service to the adviser if he had only cared enough to choose facts over fantasy.

The party mentioned that it did not see any shred of merit in responding to the rest of his unsubstantiated tirade of allegations. NPCC asserted that it was ever ready to engage in any discourse in the interest of people of this nation, provided it came from a place of evidence and facts, not some baseless dungeons and dragon fairy tale story conjured out of thin air and being masqueraded as legitimate points of discussion.

Further, condemning the anti-cow slaughter rally, the party said it considered this an assault on the diverse and secular spirit enshrined in the Constitution of India, while reasserting its commitment to continue the fight against such divisive agendas.
