Nagaland: RVC to impose ‘indefinite bandh’

With the expiry of 10-day ultimatum served on the deputy commissioner (DC) Shamator to repair and maintain diversion road NH-202 from Shungkiu-Muruhki, the Rurur Village Council (RVC) has announced its decision to impose “indefinite bandh” on vehicular movement from October 2, 2024 onwards.


In a press release, RVC chairman Kiuji and head GB Chipong stated that the responsible authority has failed to address the deteriorating condition of the road, which has become a serious safety hazard.


Therefore, RVC said it would not allow any movement of vehicles within the jurisdiction.
However, it has suggested alternate route for light vehicles from shungkiu via Rurur- pungrungru village – yinchkiur village – Kiphire, Shungkiu via Rurur Village – Sikiur Village – Anatongre village.
