A capacity building workshop on Gati Shakti Portal of MDoNER and Nagaland was held at the Conference hall, Department of Industries & Commerce on October 4.
According to DIPR report, delivering key note address, senior director, ministry of DoNER, Vivek Gupta said PM Gati shakti Portal was an initiative of the Prime Minister of India, to monitor large scale project which was launched on October 13, 2021 and the purpose of launching the portal was to improve co-ordination between various Ministries and departments.
Gupta, emphasised on various challenges faced between the State and the Ministry in the past years such as delay in submitting of documents, lack of proper documents, loss of physical copy of the proposal etc.
Therefore, the concept of Vikas Setu portal was introduced to breach the gap between the State and the Centre and to ensure that all the departments have visibility of the activities providing critical data while planning and execution of projects.
Gupta, also said the PM Gati Shakti portal has various tools available through which planning can be done as well as to check if there was any duplicity of the proposed project, and the project has to be submitted on to the portal where the proposers can track their status online .
He also mentioned that the portal has no dependency on any person and all the project related information will be available in the portal and accessible by any officer from anywhere at any time. The portal will also serve as a transparent system and in increasing efficiency between State and Ministry.
During the workshop, secretary Industries & Commerce, Shanavas C thanked all the representatives from different departments for their presences and participation in the capacity building workshop.
