The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has announced that non-cooperation with the NSCN (K) Khango would continue till point no. 3 of the August 20, 2024 Agreement was fulfilled.
This was decided at a meeting of the AYO with senior leaders and four ranges– Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO), Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO), Western Angami Youth Organisation (WAYO) and Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO)– where it was unanimously resolved to uphold the August 20, 2024 Agreement.
AYO president Kesosul Christopher Ltu and general secretary Neidilhoutuo Sechü stated that following a letter from CFSB/NSCN (K) Khango supervisor A Imyapangba Ao to Ceasefire Monitoring Group/Ceasefire Supervisory Board chairman expressing willingness to resolve the imbroglio between AYO and NSCN (K) Khango, they had in good faith responded to the appeal and met their delegation led by kilo kilonser Visheto Yeptho and A Imyapangba Ao on August 20 at Kohima.AYO said the meeting was facilitated by the office of the CMG/CFSB.
They mentioned that they also gave due consideration to the August 2 letter of assurance by the special secretary to NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango general secretary Hukato Vusshe, which stated “The dignitaries enjoy the complete trust and the authority in representing the NSCN, to reciprocate to any positive approach in resolving the issue.
It is to be noted that they will express the collective message of the NSCN, and which should not be inferred as their own personal opinion or perspective.”
After a marathon meeting on August 20, AYO and NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango representatives resolved to append a four-point agreement. However, AYO leaders alleged that the NSCN (K) Khango had to date failed to address point no. 3 of the agreement that stated, “The NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango shall make it known to the public the identity of the person alias Max Naga and shall initiate appropriate disciplinary action against him on or before 15 days.
Accordingly, AYO shall withdraw its non-cooperation and recalling back of Angami workers from the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango.” AYO said they regretted to inform the public that the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango had failed on its part to honour the gentlemen’s agreement between the two parties.
