Konyak Union (KU) units of Longching, Moka and Tobu have resolved to urge the NHIDCL Kohima executive director to immediately execute road connecting Yeangmon River to Mon via Sowa Changle, Longching, Mohung, Apao, Aboi and Totok Chingnyu (as per DPR).
In a joint statement, KU Longching unit president N. Chaohong Konyak, KU Moka unit president Neangba Konyak and KU Tobu unit president SA Ngamlao said the resolution was adopted at a co-ordination meeting of three KU units held on October 19, 2024.
At the coordination meeting, the three units also resolved that extortion/taxation and “untold disturbances to the contractors and workers by the underground factions” within the three KU Units jurisdiction would not be allowed.
The three KU units cautioned that, henceforth, if any faction was found doing such “unwanted activities” then they would declare “non-cooperation” to that particular faction. “The same will be officially notified to all the underground factions, media and the general public for awareness,” the unit stated.
Further, they also resolved that police security would be deployed at every ongoing major road and bridges construction site. The three unit resolved to submit petition to DC Mon and SP Mon for arrangement of security personnel.
