Skill training programme for students

A five-day skill training programme for students conducted by Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre at Oriental Theological College (OTC) concluded on November 16 at Yangli, Tuensang.

During the training, more than 100 participants were exposed to five different trades (Banana Fibre Extraction & Handicrafts, Handmade Paper & Pulp, Waste management (Reduce, Re-use & Recycle), and House wiring & Maintenance), each designed to equip them with practical skills.


Trainer demonstrated the steps involved in the extraction process, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and resource utilization. Participants also actively engaged in hands-on activities, creating handicrafts and gained valuable insights.


The training provided not only valuable skills but also encouraged participants to think creatively and responsibly.

The participants were also equipped with tools to not only improve their lives but also contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable and eco-conscious world. Earlier, the training program commenced with a welcome speech from Dr. Chemtingla Sangtam, the principal of OTC.
