A delegation led by chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Monday left for Delhi to meet Union Home minister Amit Shah and other Central leaders. Rio was accompanied by deputy chief ministers— TR Zeliang and Y Patton.
The meeting is scheduled to be held on Tuesday. Though the meeting with Shah is expected to deliberate on the recent threat by NSCN (I-M) to resume “armed resistance” unless their demand for third-party intervention in the ongoing Naga talks is addressed, sources said that Rio-led delegation is also likely to discuss about the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) issue. As reported, the Cabinet during its meeting held on Saturday, stressed on the need to impress upon Central leaders the urgency of expediting a resolution to the Naga issue.
