As the festive season of Christmas draws near, the New Market here has turned into a hive of activity with residents and visitors alike flocking to its bustling lanes.

Known for its vibrant atmosphere and variety of goods, the market has become a go-to destination for shoppers seeking thrift clothing deals announced at unbeatable prices starting Rs 50.

The announcement of affordable thrift clothes has created a buzz, drawing large crowds to the heart of the market. From early morning till late evening, the lanes of New Market are filled with eager buyers combing through racks of secondhand clothing, searching for hidden treasures.

“I came here to buy gifts for my family, and the thrift section is a bonus,” said Mary, a shopper holding a bag full of clothes. “The quality is surprisingly good for the price!” she exclaimed.

The thrift stalls feature a range of items, including winter jackets, cozy sweaters, stylish shirts, and even accessories. With prices starting as low as Rs 50, they have attracted a diverse crowd, including students, young professionals, and families on a budget.

For the vendors, this festive surge has brought a much-needed boost to their sales. Many have reported record-breaking footfalls, especially after the news of thrift deals spread via word-of-mouth and social media.

Explained Rahim, a shopkeeper at New Market: “We decided to offer these prices as a special Christmas gesture. It’s our way of giving back to the community while also clearing out our inventory.”

The initiative has not only helped vendors improve their earnings but also contributed to the market’s lively atmosphere. Beyond shopping, the market exudes a festive spirit. Stalls have been adorned with Christmas decorations, while the aroma of street food wafts through the air. Shoppers can be seen enjoying local delicacies like momos, samosas, and steaming cups of chai as they browse through the offerings.
