Kohima traffic advisory for stone pulling ceremony

In view of the 25th Hornbill Festival stone pulling ceremony on December 4, 2024, Kohima police have informed that Kohima-Mao National Highway-02 stretch from Jakhama Military Station to Kisama Heritage Village (2nd gate) would remain closed from 8:30am to 1pm.

In this regard, Police have issued traffic advisory in order to ensure smooth conduct of the stone pulling ceremony.

The following traffic regulation would be enforced: all vehicles (passengers) coming from Manipur will be diverted via Viswema-Kidima Prayer Park-Kezocha-Chakhabama-New Secretariat-Meriema-IG Stadium-T. Khel Model Road and Vice versa for Manipur bound vehicles coming from Dimapur side during the stone pulling ceremony.

NST shuttle bus coming from Kohima would continue to operate whereas shuttle bus service from Kigwema to Kisama would remain suspended during the stone pulling ceremony. Kohima police have soiught cooperation and support from all citizens.
